It is curious that some presidential hopefuls are calling for the next Supreme Court nomination to be deferred to the next administration. This is necessary, they claim, so that the voice of the people may be heard. Please advise them that the people have already weighed in. Three years ago they commissioned Barack Obama to discharge the duties of the presidency for the next four years, just as the Constitution prescribes. I would think that those who believe in its strict construction would be aware of this.
