Be fair about Eugene Verdu

This is in response to the sound-off regarding Eugene Verdu on Feb. 22. Whoever submitted that lame article is grossly misinformed.

Having known Mr. Verdu my entire life, I can say with confidence that he is the most giving, kind-hearted humanitarian that I have ever had the pleasure of being around. He has dedicated his life’s work to helping senior citizens and he does it because he loves people, it has nothing to do with money.

Sure, when he worked at PSOP, he received a paycheck, but people can’t always work for free. He has put in many volunteer hours himself since retirement, along with astronomical amounts of energy and care to ensure that senior citizens have as many programs available to them as possible, because he cares. He would give anyone the shirt off his back and it’s heartbreaking that you believe it’s all about money.

Try seeing the good in people, and as an example, you should start by looking at Eugene Verdu because they do not get any better than that.
