Mother’s Day and Memorial Day are both coming up. Two days we need to celebrate and remember with love and respect.
Even in these hard times, do what you can. We will at God’s Corner, 6103 N. Park Drive, in Washington Park. It’s springtime, time for flowers for Mom and our seniors, time to fly Old Glory in honor of our veterans and troops. Every day let’s do good and pray for a better America. God always provides. The good outweighs the bad. There is more love and respect.
Look around and see all the greatness, all of our heroes, volunteers, public servants you know. Yes, there are the bullies, the Leonard Pitts and Jim Walters and Obama’s and wannabees. Well, all of us are not getting any younger. Life is short and life is what you make it. No matter if you have million of dollars, you cannot take it with you.
A poor man like me is grateful for all of God’s blessings, especially for our best friends with four legs and wagging tails. Reaching out to help homeless strays, dogs and cats every day keeps me going. It’s good to read all the good letters in the Belleville News-Democrat. What a blessing. Happy Mother’s Day. Please remember and salute our heroes in the past and present. God bless America.
