Subtle start for tyranny

Sometimes tyranny begins subtly so that only alert citizens can spot it. Many of the founders who had studied many civilizations before us fell to this tyranny, so after much study, gave us the Constitution to help us be vigilant so our freedoms would not be taken away by seemingly beneficial laws.

Jefferson warned, “Experience hath shown, that even under the best forms of government, those entrusted with power have, in time and slow operations, perverted into tyranny.” For instance, the government may say everyone deserves a college education and announce a program of wealth redistribution in order to pay for it.

See how many attempts at tyranny we have been able to fight off. Now we’re in a fight for our grandchildren’s freedoms.
