Thank you so much to all who supported the Cahokia Area Kiwanis/Rotary/Cahokia Unit School District 187 20th Annual Pancake Breakfast and Community Fair on May 7 at Cahokia High School.
The event has been a cooperative effort in our Cahokia community that unites schools, social service agency vendors and volunteers to raise funds for Cahokia High School seniors for college scholarships.
I especially want to thank and recognize my Rotary Co-Chairperson Charlotte Hamm and Honorary Chairperson CUSD 187 Superintendent/Kiwanis member Art Ryan for the help and support they provided in the planning of the event.
CUSD 187/Sodexo Manager Deb Vaughan was also instrumental in ordering all supplies for the day and in the donations they provided to the event.

I would also like to praise the efforts of Principal Kevin Bement and his entire staff for readying the cafeteria, gymnasium and grounds for the annual event.
Special thanks to CUSD 187 staff members Paige Dustmann and Vicki Breckel for their unwavering effort to include 75-plus vendors and 10 school booths at the Community Fair.
I would be remiss if I did not say a very special thank you to our leaders of tomorrow: All of the JROTC students, Rotary Interact students, CHS Chorus groups and all students who volunteered to make the day a premier community event.
Dee Reed, Kiwanis co-chairperson, Cahokia
