Letters to the Editor

Is he worth it?

In a recent article of the Madison-St. Clair Record on April 22, it spoke of State Sen. Bill Haine, D-Alton. He is chairman of the Senate Insurance Committee. He makes $67,836 as a state senator. As a former Madison County state’s attorney, he rakes in $148,042 per year in state pension and he is not retired, $111 per diem while the legislature is convened, free meals from friendly lobbyists who do not expect anything in return (ha, ha). Ah, the life of a legislator.
