Career change help is available for veterans

This is an important recent addition to the benefits available to veterans that we all should know about. It includes opportunities for vocation and life changing work.

These opportunities are available to veterans presently working in agriculture or who want to try a career in some avenue of farming, whether small or large, with support from many people who would like to see you succeed. Resources and information include business evaluation, job counseling, rehab evaluation and assistance with physical or emotional/social challenges.

The Farmer Veteran Coalition is an organization composed of partners that support the mission of mobilizing veterans “to find sustainable careers and places to heal on our nation’s farms.” Partners in this work include Farm Credit, Farm Bureau, National Farmers Union, AgrAbility, NCAT/ATTRA, Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Agriculture, and many other regional and local farm organizations.

Please check out the coalition at www.farmvetco.org. You can contact them at support@farmvetco.org or by phone 530-756-1395. The opportunities are comprehensive and may be a door of opportunity waiting for your knock.
