Madigan needs to sit down with Rauner

Illinois Speaker of the House Michael J. Madigan wants to claim that Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner’s agenda will only hurt the middle class. Well, as far as I can see, and I’m sure several others can, as well, Madigan is hurting middle class just as much.

Mike refuses to sit down with Bruce and get things worked out. He just wants his tax hike and nothing else — like a tax hike will solve everything. Well, Mike, you have been in office for some 30-odd years and in all that time did you do anything to bring debt down? No, you didn’t. You added to it instead. So whatever you have been doing for all those years is not working.

Just for argument’s sake, say we have a tax hike and it added to the debt instead of helping. What should happen next year? Have an even bigger tax hike? And if that doesn’t work, the following year have an even bigger one?

Tell me and the others what exactly is wrong with Bruce’s agenda? Instead of complaining that his agenda is not going to work, you should sit down with him and get something worked out.

In case you haven’t noticed, companies have been leaving Illinois because of the tax problem. Once taxes are up, more companies will be leaving, which will put a tax burden on the middle class. So sit down with Bruce, work out a balanced budget and quit claiming stuff.
