The Belleville News-Democrat Editorial Board feels sorry for the Illinois coal industry (May 19). Our state has so much of this valuable resource which will likely not be utilized for the benefit of our state or the robber baron coal operators.
There is no such thing as clean coal. Coal is bad. President Obama did not make coal bad. The president is not conspiring against Illinois.
Well, we have plenty of trees in Illinois. Let’s cut all of them down and use them for fuel. There are plenty of discarded old daily BND newspapers. Let’s collect them up and burn them to heat our homes and generate our electricity. Just because something is available does not mean we should use it.
