A company just recently cut the trees in my front yard for Ameren. And it just breaks my heart every time I look at them.
They just butchered them. Cut two in half and cut the limbs off on the others so as to make them tall “half trees.” I never saw any other trees on Bunkum Road “butchered” this severely. It takes so long for a tree to grow.
I tried reasoning with them, but they insisted that Ameren instructed them to do it. I have to live with these poor, helpless trees as long as I live here. Joyce Kilmer would be ashamed: “I think that I shall never see, a poem lovely as a tree.”
