Letters to the Editor

Information source

To letter writer Sharron Lindsey, who asked, “Why allow guns whose only purpose is to kill?” The purpose of a firearm is to expel the projectile from its muzzle. Where that projectile goes depends on the person pulling the trigger. Most times it’s a paper target. A miniscule percentage of guns in America are misused to injure or kill someone.

Any death is unfortunate. Accidental injuries can be reduced by training and education. Your best source for this information is the organization who has trained law enforcement and citizens alike for decades, the National Rifle Association.
