The BND has been editorially excoriating the state for failing to continue notifying automobile owners about their expiring license plate tags. Well it appears the state will extend the life of the stickers by one month, and letting folks avoid extra fees while entitling them to 13 month tags.
Unless an owner never walks behind their car to open a trunk or hatch, the owner should take a glance at their license tag. It has a date on it and is color coded with the current assigned color. If you look at your tag today and notice it has June on it, then you are out of date. If it has July, then you have several days to get your new sticker.
When you are in an area where there are many cars parked, look at their license plates. That is a good way to learn the current color. Also, almost all the cars will have current tags. Those owners did not need to have reminder to fulfill an obligation.
