Washington Post writer Michael Gerson’s recent column on Donald Trump’s inner circle was a bit disingenuous. In making his point that Trump is surrounded by scoundrels he called out past staffers Corey Lewandowski and Paul Manafort. The fact that they’re no longer in Trump’s entourage shows that his camp is ever-evolving, seeking a more perfect storm of advisers for the stretch run.
Gerson was so busy calling out all the perceived bad actors that he neglected to recognize recent Trump hire, Kellyanne Conway, as his campaign manager. She appears to possess a wealth of relevant knowledge and experience. I recently caught her interviews on both FOX and one of the morning shows and found her to be polished and well-versed. I guess mentioning her would not have helped to support Gerson’s doom and gloom theme.
