Today’s question: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers joined the NFL in 1976 and lost all 14 games that season. In 1976, they lost their first 12 games. Which team was the last to defeat the Bucs before they finally won their first game?
Yesterday’s answer: The White Sox traded Bobby Bonilla for Jose DeLeon. DeLeon only played with the White Sox through the 1987 season before being traded to the St. Louis Cardinals for Lance Johnson. He had one decent season in 1989, winning 16 games and losing 12 for the Cardinals, but he finished his 13-year career in 1995 as an average journeyman pitcher. After being given away by the White Sox in 1986, Bobby Bonilla played 15 more Major League seasons with the Pirates, Mets, Orioles, Marlins, Dodgers, Braves and Cardinals. During that time he had a .279 average with 287 home runs. He played in six All-Star Games, won three Silver Slugger Awards, and finished second in the National League Most Valuable Player voting in 1990.
