The Grizzlies have added infielders Will DuPont and Shane Cooper for the upcoming 2015 season. Both players are from the greater St. Louis area.
DuPont grew up in nearby Wildwood, Mo. and was drafted from Lafayette High School by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2012 MLB Draft.
"It's definitely a great opportunity to play for the Grizzlies and the opportunity to play so close to home is exciting," DuPont said. "A lot of my family and friends will be able to come out and see me play for the first time in a while," he said.
The 21-year-old spent two seasons in Toronto's system and played in the Houston Astros' organization during 2014.
