MOBILE, Ala. (AP) -- Pavin Smith doubled twice and singled, and Bo Takahashi pitched seven scoreless innings as the Jackson Generals defeated the Mobile BayBears 2-1 on Wednesday. The Generals swept the five-game series with the win.
Takahashi (3-2) allowed three hits while striking out seven and walking one to pick up the win.
Jackson broke a scoreless tie in the top of the sixth when Galli Cribbs Jr. hit an RBI single, bringing home Smith.
After Jackson added a run in the seventh on a double by Smith, the BayBears cut into the deficit in the eighth inning when Brandon Marsh hit an RBI double, scoring Connor Justus.
Dario Beltre (1-1) went two innings, allowing two runs and three hits in the Southern League game. He also struck out four and walked two.
