Storm’s aftermath: When will postponed games be played?

The Class 1A Okawville Girls Basketball Sectional scheduled for Monday was postponed because of bad weather and rescheduled for Tuesday.

Winchester will face Hardin Calhoun in the first semifinal at 6 p.m., followed by Lebanon (23-4) vs. New Athens (26-1) at 7:30 p.m. Cahokia Conference-Kaskaskia Division champ New Athens beat Lebanon twice this season in conference play, 46-27 and 51-39.

* The Class 2A Wesclin Girls Basketball Sectional scheduled for Monday was postponed and the semifinals were rescheduled for Wednesday.

Nashville will play Benton at 6 p.m., followed by Central (25-3) vs. Carterville at 7:30 p.m. The winners will meet in the sectional final that could be played Thursday but more likely on Friday, according to Wesclin Athletic Director Tom Hund.

* The Belleville East vs. O’Fallon first-round game at the Class 4A O’Fallon Regional was postponed and rescheduled for 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The winner will meet top-seeded Belleville West in the semifinals at 6 p.m. Wednesday, followed by East St. Louis vs. Collinsville in the other semifinal at 7:30 p.m. The regional championship has been moved to 7 p.m. Friday.

* Triad’s Class 3A girls basketball regional game against Jerseyville at the Jerseyville Regional on Monday has been postponed.

Triad will now play Jerseyville at 7 p.m. Tuesday, with the regional semifinals moved to Wednesday. The Triad-Jerseyville winner will face top-seeded Highland at 6 p.m. Wednesday, followed by Civic Memorial vs. Mater Dei at 7:30 p.m. The regional championship is set for 7 p.m. Thursday.

* The Class 4A Alton Regional game between Granite City and Quincy was postponed and moved to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The winner will meet top-seeded Edwardsville in the semifinals at 6 p.m. Wednesday, with the other semifinal between Alton and Pekin at 7:30 p.m. The regional championship has been moved to 7 p.m. Friday.
