Synopsis: The top-seeded Maroons (23-5) and second-seeded East St. Louis (20-8) split a pair of games this season and appear to be headed for a decisive third game Friday for the regional title. The two teams have different strengths as West is led by its dynamic outside duo of senior guards Shay Fluker (20.7 points per game) and Imani Berry (19.8) and coach Shardae Butler’s East St. Louis squad relies more on its strong inside presence. Athletic Brelanair Cox (13.8) and Janisha Munson (8.7) lead the Flyerettes, who upset West a year ago in the regional title game. Collinsville and a young, but strong O’Fallon squad could both pose a problem for either West and East St. Louis on a given night.
