The Columbia Eagles defeated the Dupo Tigers 5-3 in nonconference high school softball Thursday.
Courtney Weilbacher and Cali Wibbenmeyer each went 3 for 3 with an RBI for the Eagles. Chelsy Pena had an RBI hit, Lexi Touchette doubled and Lindsay Wibbenmeyer tripled for the Eagles. Keeler Vanbreusegen also drove home a run.
Kaelyn Rheinecker struck out two in seven innings for Columbia to get the win in the pitcher’s circle.
For Dupo, Skylure Barlow and Megan Brown each had RBI doubles. Kassidee Keys and Stormy Sellers doubled. Brown struck out three over seven innings for the Tigers.
Columbia (23-3) plays a doubleheader at home against Nashville on Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m. Dupo (18-8), second place in Illinois Class 2A a year ago, begins regional play next week.
