Columbia edges past Freeburg for a win

Columbia outlasts Freeburg

Jordan Homes and Jon Peterson scored 19 points apiece in Columbia's thrilling 59-58 win over Freeburg.

The Eagles were down by six at halftime but rallied to score 22 points in the third quarter, giving them a 44-42 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Freeburg had an impressive 29 point effort from Luke Ervie in the loss.

Columbia (15-11) will play Central on Tuesday. Freeburg (14-14) will play Central on Friday.

East St. Louis tops O'Fallon

East St. Louis beat O'Fallon 62-46 on Friday night.

The Panthers stayed on track with the Flyers for the first half with only four points separating the two teams at halftime. East St. Louis, however, came out strong in the third quarter, scoring 21 points to O'Fallon's five points, creating the lead that would cement the win.

East St. Louis (11-10) will travel to Granite City on Tuesday. O'Fallon (10-15) will play at Edwardsville on Tuesday.

Wesclin breezes past Lebanon

Wesclin beat Lebanon 69-37.

Five players scored in the double figures including Hunter Ottensmeier (17), Mick Stephens (15), Justin Kellogg (12), Nate Brede (10) and Brandon Courtney (10).

Wesclin (23-4) will travel to the Wood River Regional on Tuesday. Lebanon (11-18) will open postseason play against Marissa at the Okawville Regional on Monday.

Alton- Marquette stays on top

Alton-Marquette continued its perfect season Friday night, with a 42-25 win over Gibault.

Nick Hemann led the charge for the Explorers, scoring a team-high 14 points and Sammy Green pitched in 12 points.

Marquette (29-0) will begin postseason play Tuesday, Feb. 27. Gibault (9-19) will play Valmeyer on Saturday.

Red Bud gets conference win over Dupo

Red Bud topped Dupo 57-39 on Friday.

Red Bud (15-11) and Dupo (6-19) will take on each other again as they open the Pinckneyville Regional on Monday.

Marinko scores 31 points in Edwardsville win

While not a season-high, Jack Marinko scored an impressive team-high 31 points in Edwardsville's 64-54 win over Alton on Friday.

Edwardsville (15-8) will continue in conference play against O'Fallon on Tuesday. Alton (14-9) will play Taylorsville on Saturday.

Steeleville beats New Athens

In conference play, Steeleville beat New Athens 54-35 and remains at the top of Cahokia Kaskaskia Conference standings with a league record 11-1.

Steeleville (17-10) will play Waltonville at the Zeigler Regional on Tuesday. New Athens (5-19) will play Valmeyer at the Okawville Regional on Monday.

Triad edges past Civic Memorial

Triad topped Civic Memorial 58-56.

Civic Memorial wasted a 37 point effort from JaQuan Adams.

Triad (13-13) will play Mascoutah on Tuesday. Civic Memorial (17-9) will play Highland on Tuesday.

Parker scores big in Nashville win

Carson Parker scored 21 points in Nashville's 52-42 victory over DuQuoin.

Nashville (21-7) will travel to the Staunton Regional on Tuesday.
