Deonta Woods scored on a 38-yard touchdown pass from Christian Curtis to cap a furious O’Fallon Panther comeback and a 43-40 Southwestern Conference win over Belleville East.
The Lancers held a 23-14 lead at halftime thanks to a 40 field goal by Alex Maxim and a 30-yard fumble return by defensive lineman Dondi Fuller.
The third quarter was a shootout, however, as both quarterbacks passed for a pair of touchdowns.
Curtis connected with Chris Smith for 22 yards and Ronald Anthony for 31. East’s Kienen Waller — who had four touchdown passes on the night — hit Quantavious Alexander for a 63-yard score and DeCarlos Johnson from 10 yards out.
