Wesclin running back Gavin Bilbruck rushed for 168 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Warriors to a 41-22 win over Salem Friday.
The win was a big one for Wesclin (5-0) which, with Central’s loss to Mater Dei, gives the Warriors sole possession of first place in the Cahokia Conference.
Bilbruck opened the scoring on a 60-yard run in the first quarter then scored a pair of second quarter touchdown to give Wesclin a 27-0 lead heading into halftime.
Jacob Harness connected on a 37-yard touchdown pass from Nathan Roth for the Wildcats in the third as Roth added another third quarter touchdown on a 36-yard run for Salem.
Wesclin (5-0) next faces Carlyle Friday at 7 p.m.
