Waterloo quarterback Graham Baker connected with Jackson Ivers on a 10-yard touchdown in overtime to lift the Bulldogs past Jerseyville 34-28 in a Mississippi Valley Conference game Friday.
The Bulldogs (3-3, 2-1), who trailed 28-21 following a 14-yard run by the Panthers’ Kurt Hall early in the fourth quarter, tied the game with just over three minutes left on a 3-yard run by Dalton Viglasky. The touchdown was the third of the night for Viglasky, who also scored on runs of 2 and 5 yards. Viglasky finished the night with 114 yards on 22 carries.
Baker, who was 11 of 15 for 112 yards, added a 6-yard scoring pass to Ross Schrader to close out the scoring for the Bulldogs.
Jerseyville senior quarterback Drew Sauerwein was 15 of 28 for 190 yards. The Panthers slip to 1-2 in the MVC and 2-4 for the season.
