The St. Louis Cardinals announced Monday that they have activated outfielder Dexter Fowler from the 10-day disabled list and optioned outfielder Stephen Piscotty to Triple-A Memphis.

Fowler, who was disabled July 25, is batting .241 with 14 home runs and 37 RBIs in 81 games. The 31-year-old Fowler was disabled earlier in the year with a right heel spur. His 14 homers rank second among all National League switch-hitters.

Piscotty, 26, was activated from the disabled list Aug. 1 after missing 16 games with a right groin strain.

Piscotty is batting .232 with six home runs and 31 RBIs in 75 games. He also was sidelined earlier this season with a right hamstring strain.
