Let the dominoes start to fall!
According to numerous reports, the Yankees are on the verge of firing the first salvo of the July trading frenzy. They're said by ESPN and the New York Post, amongst other outlets, to be near a deal with the Mariners for Cliff Lee.
The scary thing is that the Yankees will surrender their top prospect, catcher Jesus Montero, to land Lee for a three-month rental.
Look for this to be the first of at least a couple of moves for the Yankees, the next of which could alter the landscape of the National League.
The Yankees have reportedly been talking with Philadelphia about a deal that would swap starting pitching for right fielder Jayson Worth. That deal would only seem to become more likely if the Yankees are able to add to their stable of starters.
