After 17 hours of driving, we got to Tampa Friday night.
Today we head to what was formerly known as Legends Field to watch the Yankees play Detroit, the Cardinals' 2006 World Series foes.
I miss the days when the Cardinals were in St. Petersburg because there was so much more opportunity to visit other ballparks and see other clubs.
Now called George M. Steinbrenner field after the ailing Yankees owner, the Tampa ballpark includes design cues to make it look like the Yankees home ballpark in New York, specifically the lattice work around the upper rim of the stadium.
After that, we're heading to French's Rockaway Grill in Clearwater Beach to watch the sun set from the gulfview deck while munching on some grouper nuggets and cheese fries.
I'll post some pictures later.
