Obama to throw out All-Star first pitch

Major League Baseball has announced that President Barack Obama will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the All-Star Game on July 14 at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.

It will mark the first time a sitting president has thrown out the first pitch at the new Busch Stadium. Obama's predecessor, George W. Bush threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the old Busch Stadium on opening day of the 2004 season. Cardinals Chairman Bill DeWitt Jr. was a major fundraiser for Bush.

This will be the fourth time a sitting president has thrown out the first pitch at the All-Star Game. John F. Kennedy did it first in 1962 followed by Richard Nixon in 1970 and Gerald Ford in 1976.
