Congratulations to Cardinals starter Adam Wainwright and catcher
Yadier Monlina who both won 2009 Gold Gloves.
Wainwright did not make an error in 2009 while Molina had the
best rate of throwing out opposing baserunners in the National
League amongst starting catchers: 41 percent.
It was Wainwright's first Cy Young and Molina's second in a row.
Left off the list was former Gold Glover Albert Pujols who had
an excellent season with the leather but was snubbed in favor
of San Diego's Adrian Gonzalez.
I wonder, since Pujols seems to be a shoe in for his third NL
MVP award this season if Gonzalez got more Gold Glove
consideration to spread the love around a little bit...
