Former Cardinals infielder Aaron Miles is the new Adam Kennedy.
Miles, who signed a shockingly lucrative contract with the Cubs last season before spending an injury plagued season in the fans' doghouse, has been dealt to Oakland along with Jake Fox for Jeff Gray according to ESPN. There Miles will fill the utility infielder role that Kennedy, another former Cardinals infielder, had after being released by St. Louis just before spring training.
Miles made $2.2 million in 2009 when he hit .185 with no homers and five RBIs in 157 at bats will make $2.7 million in 2010. The Cubs will pick up $1 million of that paycheck. Miles made $1.4 million with the Cardinals in 2008 when he hit .317 in 379 at bats.
