We know the Cardinals will have their hands full as they try to re-sign sluggin outfielder Matt Holliday...
But now it looks like the competition could be intense as if they try to bring back the versitle Mark DeRosa.
According to a suburban phillyburbs.com, the Phillies plan to make a run at DeRosa to fill the hole at third base created when they decided not to exercise their option on Pedro Feliz.
It sound like DeRosa is Philadelphia's first choice -- if his wrist is healthy. They don't think they can afford Angels free agent Chone Figgins...
If the Phillies can't land DeRosa, other former Cardinals are also on their radar including slugger Troy Glaus who had a lost season in 2009 and Placido Polanco who played in Philadelphia before when he was part of the trade that brought Scott Rolen to St. Louis.
The Cubs are also expected to try to bring back DeRosa. It was a major public relations disaster for their club when they let one of their most popular players go... only to replace him with Milton Bradley who underperformed and griped the whole time.
