Pujols named Player of the Decade

St. Louis first baseman Albert Pujols has been named the Major League Baseball Player of the Decade by AOL's Fanhouse.

While Alex Rodriguez and Barry Bonds had their share of accolades including MVP awards, the site cited Pujols' remarkable consistency, logging nine seasons in a row with a batting average above .300 and with 30 or more homers. His defense, leadership and ability to avoid controversy were also named as reasons for his selection.
