Cardinals opening day schedule:
11 a.m. until 2 p.m. -- Cardinals official opening day rally on the Ballpark village lot on the north side of Busch Stadium.
1:15 Busch Stadium gates open.
2:30 The Budweiser Clydesdales will kick off the Opening Day ceremonies with a lap around the park followed by the Cardinals motorcade. Whitey Herzog, inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame last year, will join current players in their ride around the perimeter of the field in convertibles. Several members of 1985 National League champion Cardinals will be introduced. A bald eagle from the World Bird Sanctuary will fly over the ballpark and the flags will be presented by the 375th Air Wing Color Guard prior to the National Anthem. A moment of silence will be observed for former Cardinals owner Nick Kladis and former team executive Fred Kuhlman. Neal Boyd, 2007 winner of America's Got Talent will sing the Star Spangled Banner and a flyover of U.S. Air Force A-10s will take place. Herzog will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
New for 2010 at Busch Stadium:
-- The Cardinals Authentics store in Ford Plaza beyond the centerfield wall has been enclosed and expanded
-- Historic team logos have been added to Busch Stadium's main stairwells
-- Brick wainscoting has been added to the suite level of the ballpark.
-- Fans can have a customized jersey made while they wait at the Fans Nest at Broadway
-- New edibles at Busch Stadium in 2010 include: hand rolled toasted ravioli at the ballpark's Dizzy's Diner locations, the St. Louis BBQ Bacon Dog in the Redbird Club, wafles supreme and Cherokee Street tacos.
