The Cardinals are becoming discouraged about the chances that Troy Glaus will be able to return to the lineup any time soon.
GM John Mozeliak told mlb.com that no news is bad news, as far as he is concerned.
"If things were really getting better or improving to where he'll be able to do baseball activities, it just seems like we'd be getting more feedback," Mozeliak said. "And I'm not hearing that."
The Cardinals have claimed that they would explore the trade market for help if Glaus can't come back soon. But that doesn't necessarily mean they would get a third baseman. The Cardinals miss Glaus' bat more than they miss his glove.
