Memphis breaks out against Omaha

Cardinals prospect Bryan Anderson was 3-for-6 with a homer and a double Saturday night to lead Class AAA Memphis in a 6-4 Redbirds win over the Omaha Royals.

Also for Memphis: Right fielder Mark Shorey went 3-for-4, centerfielder Shane Robinson was 2-for-3, designated hitter Amaury Cazana was 2-for-4 and left fielder Jon Jay was 2-for-5 in a 12-hit offensive outburst.

Rich Hill started the game for Memphis and allowed only three hits and a run in six innings for the Redbirds. He struck out five but walked six, so he apparently is still in good stuff but no control mode...

On Sunday, Adam Ottavino will start for Memphis against former Cardinals hurler Brad Thompson.
