The Cardinals have purchased the contract of infielded Aaron Miles from their Springfield Class AA affiliate.
To make room, they've sent Allen Craig back to Class AAA Memphis after one at bat in his second stay in the majors. For the record, he made an out and lowered his season batting average from .056 to .053.
Miles had a hot start in Class AA. But he hat sagged lately to .279 in the batting average department. If he couldn't hit middle minors pitching, I'm a little bit worried about what he's going to do back in The Show. Miles hit .317 in his most recent season in St. Louis, 2008. But after that he washed out with the Cubs following a .185 average in 2009. Since then he was traded to Oakland and later to Cincinnati where he couldn't crack either club's roster.
He's already listed on the Cardinals website as being on the major league roster. He's not listed as having a number, but the 12 jersey he wore in his previous stint with the Birds is currently available.
