Cameron signs with Boston, Holliday's market shrinks

Updating a post from last night about the Red Sox signing John Lackey to an $85-million contract...

The Sox apparently did use some of their Jason Bay/Matt Holliday money to bolster their pitching staff. According to Fox Sports, Boston has closed a deal with former Reds, Mariners, Padres and Brewers outfielder Mike Cameron to play left field.

The 37-year-old Cameron will be a short term solution. But he'll come a lot cheaper than Bay who turned down a four-year deal and Holliday who could want an even bigger deal.
