Aaron Miles goes on the DL

Former Cardinals utility man and fan favorite Aaron Miles has been placed on the disabled list by the Cubs.

Miles, who was hitting .204 in 37 games with the Wee Bears, strained his shoulder. He was replaced in a flurry of action that saw Lebanon native Neal Cotts and infielder Bobby Scales optioned to Class AAA Iowa.

The Cubs called up infielders Jake Fox and Andres Blanco as well as lefty hurler Jason Waddell to fill the empty roster spots.

It was not revealed how Miles was injured or how long he is expected to be out.
