When the Cardinals face the Astros beginning tonight, Houston will likely be without speedy leadoff man Michael Bourn -- at least for two of the three games.
Bourn was suspended for a pair of games today by Major League Baseball for an incident over the weekend during which he bumped an umpire while arguing about a call.
Bourn, who is hitting .284 with 11 stolen bases, isn't expected to appeal the decision. Could that be because Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina is so good at cutting down opposing base stealers?
Cardinals utility player Felipe Lopez is available to come off the disabled list as early as today. But, while he has been cleared by team doctors to throw and take batting practice, he's not quite ready to resume game action, the team reports. No word on when Lopez could be reactivated.
