Fomer Cardinals outfielder Brian Barton has hooked on with the Dodgers signing a minor league contract.
Barton was traded to the Braves last season for pitcher Blaine Boyer, who barely had a chance to have a cup of coffee in St. Louis before he was designated for assignment. He ended up spending the entire season in Class AAA where be he batted .254 with seven homers between Memphis and Atlanta's top minor league club in Gwinnett, GA. He stole 20 bases in 27 attempts.
Barton, who will be 28 next season, is dimming as a prospect. But he is probably viewed as some outfield depth by the Dodgers.
