Braden Looper was the picture of durability and consistency when he pitched for the Cardinals over the last three years.
But he's not off to such a good start with Milwaukee. He was a last minute scratch Monday with a rib cage injury that sent him to a doctor's office instead of the pitchers mound.
It's uncertain how long Looper will be out. Rib cage injuries can linger on seemingly forever.
It's hard to root for a divison foe. But I'm a Looper fan because of the way he handled any role the Cardinals threw at him over the last three years, pitching effectively both out of the bullpen and as a starter without complaint.
