Another day, another disaster for the Cardinals who are officially in free fall after losing nine of their last 13.
The Cardinals, who could never overcome a 1-0 Brewers lead on Saturday, never had a chance to be in the game Sunday when pitcher Todd Wellemeyer got torched for four runs on three hits and three walks in the first inning.
Stuck in idle for five inning, the Cardinals offense got it in gear in the sixth inning and cut the deficit to 4-2. But before you could blink, the pitching staff forked over three Milwaukee tallies and the game -- not to mention the series, was lost.
Cardinals Star of the Game: Albert Pujols was 2-for-3, his best game in quite a while.
Lowlight: Wellemeyer walked SEVEN. There's not much of a chance you're going to win like that.
