Kyle Lohse will start Tuesday in Memphis, his second rehab start as he tries to come back from a forearm strain.
While he thought he had enough command to be competitive, the Cardinals say they are concerned about his control and that they want to take things slow. Supposedly they are targeting a mid-July return aided by days off around the All-Star break. But with the way Brad Thompson has been pitching lately, it's getting pretty difficult to remain patient.
Lohse allowed only three hits in 4 2/3 innings at Class AA Springfield July 2. But he walked four and allowed a homerun. He threw 79 pitches and only 44 of them were strikes.
