According to the Cardinals, surgery to repair Albert Pujols elbow was non-eventful and he should be ready to play by the time spring training rolls around.
Doctors say that the five bone spurs that were causing Pujols pain were successfully removed... And they didn't see any problems with his suspect elbow ligament to indicate that Tommy John surgery would be needed anytime soon.
Of course, this is what the same medical crew told us when Chris Carpenter had a bone spur removed from his elbow in 2007. So I wouldn't exactly close the book on this one yet.
