Fresh out of extended spring training, recently re-acquired Cardinals infielder Aaron Miles got off to a good start Thursday at Class AA Springfield.
He was 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs in a 10-4 victory over Northwest Arkansas.
Miles returned to the Birds after being released by the Reds at the end of spring training. He was traded at the end of last season by the Cubs to Oakland and then flipped from the Athletics to Cincinnati without ever playing a game for Oakland.
While he wasn't exactly facing major league pitching, Miles hit over .400 in extended spring training as he tries to recover from a disastrous 2009 in Chicago during which he hit .185 and battled through injuries.
