Pendleton named Braves first base coach

The Braves are moving into the post Bobby Cox era quickly.

The day of Cox's last game in uniform, it leaked out that former Marlins manager Freddi Gonzalez would be named as his successor. On Wednesday, Atlanta named who the bulk of its coaches would be in 2011.

Former Cardinals third sacker Terry Pendleton has been asked to stay. He served as Atlanta's hitting coach the last few years but next season will be the first base coach. Carlos Tosca, who was Gonzalez's bench coach in Miami, will fill the same role in Atlanta.

Former Braves second baseman Glenn Hubbart, who served as first base coach last season, and 2010 Atlanta bench coach China Cadahia won't be back next season.
