Ryan to DL, Tyler Greene gets the call

It appears that the Cardinals will place Brendan Ryan on the disabled list and give Tyler Greene, once expected to be the heir to David Eckstein as Redbird shortstop, his first crack at the majors.

Ryan, who had been getting a lot of playing time lately because his excellent glove work, pulled a hamstring while running out a foul ball. Cardinals starting shortstop Khalil Greene has a strained forearm and was already on the shelf.
