Cardinals draft pick Shelby Miller wants a $4 million signing bonus, according to the Dallas Morning News.
"That's the number we tossed out, but whatever it ends up being, it is," Miller told the Morning News. "If we can work something out quickly, I'll start playing rookie ball. If not, we have until Aug. 15 to get something done."
The problem with taking a high school pitcher is that he has other options if you don't cough up the money he wants. Miller committed to play baseball at Texas A&M if he doesn't ink a pro deal.
"I'd like to play pro ball as quickly as possible," Miller said. "If we can't get a contract worked out, I'll either go to A&M for three years or we'll figure something out."
