Riggleman in as Nats manager?

It appears that old friend Jim Riggleman will finally get another chance to manage in the major leagues.

According to the Washington D.C. media, Nationals manager Manny Acta will be fired and will be replaced with the former Cardinals coach and minor league director who was thought to be strong candidate to replace Redbirds skipper Tony La Russa had La Russa not signed a contract extension.

Riggleman has a record of 522-652 in stints as manager of the Cubs and Padres. He's a good nuts and bolts manager with a sound baseball mind and he's a guy who keeps an even keel. His best year was 1998 with the Cubs when his team was 90-73.
