Last season Todd Wellemeyer made more than $4 million for the Cardinals in 2009. He finally has an offer for 2010. But it looks like he is going to have to take a whole lot less.
The Giants, reportedly Wellemeyer's first choice amongst the teams he has been talking with, have offered the righthanded hurler a minor league deal, according to the San Jose Mercury News.
Wellemeyer, 31, struggled last season to a 7-10 record with a 5.89 ERA for St. Louis. In 2008, he was 13-9 with a 3.71 ERA.
The Rockies and the Mets are also reported to be interested in Wellemeyer.
