Springfield 2B Daniel Descalso is tearing up Texas League hitting with a .359 batting average in 117 at bats. He's got 10 doubles, four triples and three home runs so far and has driven in 25 baserunners.
The lefty batter is holding his own with a .250 mark against southpaws. But he is bashing righties to the tune of .393. He's hitting .418 with runners on base and .400 with runners in scoring position
Outfielder Daryl Jones is hitting .323 for Springfield. He only has one home run so far. But he has been successful in all six of his stolen base attempts.
Jones is an exciting leadoff type hitter who knows how to work the count and earn walks. But he is yet another lefty outfielder in the Cardinals system. So it will be interesting to see where the team finds a place for all its young talent.
